The following MSL courses are offered on campus. Students with prior military service, who are active duty or are enrolled in the MU Green-to-Gold program, can earn up to 6 credit hours for work experience and/or course completion.

  • MSL 1010 Intro to the Army and Critical Thinking (1 s.h.)
  • MSL 1020 Intro to Tactical Leadership (1 s.h.)
  • MSL 2010 Leadership and Decision Making (2 s.h.)
  • MSL 2020 Foundations of Tactical Leadership (2 s.h.)

A student cannot double major in Leadership Communication and Applied Communication with a concentration in one of the concentrations – Public Affairs Communication, Organizational Communication & Leadership, and Health Communication – to complete the Bachelor of Science degree.

Elective courses in one concentration for the Applied Communication Bachelor of Science degree and the online Leadership Communication major or minor may not be used to meet the requirements for another Applied Communication concentration, major, or minor.

Minor Requirements

A minor in Leadership Communication consists of 18 s.h., with at least 9 s.h. with the ACL designation.
